Linda Jo Clough Arts Overview

I didn’t want to store a favorite childhood toy and so decided to preserve it by painting it with layers of industrial grade primer. Thus began my 2-year journey into creating 22 constructions.

White is intentionally used in connecting the themes of the first 18 by removing the distraction of color to allow the viewer to imagine their own stories more easily.

The dolls and creatures dominating the themes of my white constructions are frozen in a trance like gaze of obsession and attraction that puts each of the creatures in a relationship with the environment they find themselves in.

The 4 gray constructions evolved by way of an experiment to create sculptural and abstract works using heavy amounts of primer and paint to shape and stiffen fabric then forming multitudes of ripples and waves.. I finished them by adding only a minimum of found objects.

I am currently working on a group of constructions meant to take the viewer into a much different experience than the previous ones. They will be added to my website as I complete them. I hope you will continue to explore your journey into my imagination by envisioning your own feelings and dreams into my constructions.

Enjoy!

All constructions are available for purchase at Etsy.
